Rebecca Puts Up With A Lot!

Marriage and Family

Dewater 4

“Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7

Last evening, we took the opportunity to have dinner at friends’ house here in Vancouver. It was a nice time of eating good food together with our families and then having good conversation while the kids played. During our conversation last night, I was reminded of a very important principle for life that I applied to my marriage.

Life Principle:

Keep doing the things that got you there in the first place while seeking to make GOOD adjustments along the way.
I’m happy to say that my marriage is good. I will be quick to say it is only by the grace of God, hard work, and perseverance…Rebecca puts up with a lot!

😉

That being said, in order for our marriage to thrive, we have to choose to keep doing things that got us here in the first place while seeking to make GOOD adjustments along the way.

Some things we continue to do:

  • Date (Fun, Laughter, Enjoyment)
  • Spend Time Together
  • Choose Each Other’s Best (we don’t always get it right
  • Pray Together (We go through seasons of praying together…)

Some areas of GOOD adjustments we have made (or try to make):

  • Communication (this is an area that needs constant attention, we try to make good adjustments)
  • Expectations (when we find that either of us have unrealistic expectations of each other, we try to make good adjustments)

If you are in a good spot in your marriage, keep doing the things that got you there while seeking to make GOOD adjustments along the way. If your marriage is suffering, please seek help.

Have a Great Week!
